BoHo

6372 W Sunset Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90028
(323) 465-8500

Honest to god this was one of the best gastropubs EVAR. So after going to MOCA with Rae I'm usually on the mission of consciosly finding the best food anywhere. I was originally slated to go with someone else but today eff it it's me and the best friend.

What we had:
Peach beer, light fruity refreshing delicious haha

Callos: tripe stew, pig trotters, chorizo, garbanzo, potato, roasted peppers, toast
goddamn this was just mouthwatering.

Fried Oyster 'Po boy' Sliders: gougeres, tartar sauce, applewood bacon, arugula
another mouthwatering dish, we shouldve ordered another set!

Belgian Fries with aioli and homemade ketchup.
pretty much standard, the fries were fresh, the aioli was great

Hummus, with boquerones, green olives, roastpeppers
Excellent flavors, esp with the boquerones, we needed more crostinis!

Baked fennel, with roasted shallots, bacon, gruyere cheese! The suprise of the day, this was so rich, the fennel baked just right, cant beat bacon etc really good

The italian doughnuts with chocolate, lemon, and raspberry dipping sauces
Piping hot great way to end the meal

Overall good service, good atmosphere, goddamn good food. Definitely coming back here

Reverse Wine tasting at Piccolo Ristorante

Piccolo, 5 Dudley Ave., Venice; 310-314-3222 or piccolovenice.com

Interesting concept, where 30 Italian wines are picked by the sommelier, then you choose the wine and the chef will pair and cook a dish that compliments the wine. It is a little pricy $80 3 wines and 3 plates or $120 5 wines and 5 plates. This is once a month but save up because this is a good idea.
